Faqs for Curtains
How To Measure Curtains?
Measuring for your curtains is simple and to make it even easier we've created an expert guide. We advise you measure the curtain track or pole's width, not the window, and that your curtain track or pole extends 15cm beyond both sides of your window recess, providing space for the curtains to be stack.
How To Hang Curtains?
Once your curtain pole is fitted in place, attaching the curtain couldn't be simpler. All you need do is affix them to the pole or - where required - the tracks. For more details about fitting curtain poles, explore our curtain pole buyer's guide. Similarly, for further information about which headings your curtain will fix to, read our guide to curtains.
Where Should Curtains Drop To?
The drop, or length, of your curtains, is a matter of personal taste. The most popular choices and how to measure for these are as follows. For curtains to sit flush to the windowsill measure to 1cm above the sill. If your preference is for the curtain to fall under the windowsill measure an additional 15cm. For curtains to sit flush to the floor, measure 1cm above the floor. For a more traditional look, with the curtain slightly puddled on the floor, add a further 2cm. Take a look at our expert guide for more details.
