All too often in life we feel the small details in our homes don’t need too much consideration. Who among us has ever thought “oh this detail doesn’t matter, no one will ever see it or notice”, only to have it play on their mind and become a bugbear that won’t shift?

Whether it’s door handles, the skirting board or – as can often be the case – your curtain poles, we need to consider all aspects of our home décor.

We dedicate oodles of time to thinking how our rooms will look and a good chunk of it goes to the curtains that will embellish our windows. Sadly however, you can pick the perfect curtain in a fabric you just adore, only to have it ruined by a poor choice of curtain pole.

Choose the right curtain poles for you

Natural poles in a warm tone are an ideal choice for curtains made from natural fabrics including linen, hessian or soft brushed cotton. Embroidered fabrics also pair nicely with these warm naturals. Any chalky or dusky tone will work well.

 If you prefer a darker shade, consider a deeper, more rich wood tone to achieve an elegant effect. Any type of curtain fabric will work well with natural wood.
