Our Social Snapshot series is back and this time we have some extra special summer additions we fell in love with in July! With a range of colours, patterns, and styles to celebrate, our four favourite posts from July have been as difficult to select as any month! Check it out…

Our summer favourites

Over the warmer months we have seen an increase in tagged images and they’ve been beyond amazing. From people showcasing their finished home renovation projects to blocking out the summer sun with a range of new window dressings, narrowing down this anthology of beauty to four was as tough as always. That said, we have a nice variety of styles and schemes to go reveal…

Classic chic bedroom

Kickstarting this month’s Social Snapshot is this beautiful bedroom created by @homeinteriorswithmrsmoore. This soft tone bedroom is the perfect resting room after spending a summer’s day outside, and it provides a calming sense, perfect for relaxing and settling down for the night. The white curtains layered with the white Venetian blind adds a bright, fresh feeling to the space.  The combination of the two window dressings keeps the space uplifted and bright for the warmer months of the year, while the double layer will help add insulating properties to the room for the cooler months of the year. It’s an ideal style choice for the UK climate.

The styling within this bedroom is a delicate yet striking choice, with the woven basket adding in texture while the flowers bring in a sense of nature. Styling and home decorations bring in a sense of charm and character to any room, and without them a space can feel bare and cold. @homeinteriorswithmrsmoore has a delicate yet captivating design style and her implementations of home accessories are what makes this room so homely and comforting.

A two tone bathroom

We find bathrooms to be a great areas in the home to experiment with style, pattern, and colour, acting as a treasure trove or style within a striking home. @1930sarang’s bathroom is saturated with tasteful tones in a beloved blush and blue colour palette. The deep blue adds depth and dimensionality to the space, sitting below the dado rail on the panelling .

While the soft, musky shade of pink adds in warmth and charm to the space. Styled with gold and glass accents, this bathroom has a classic feel with a contemporary twist. Another styling accent within this bathroom that we adore is the injection of a bold, leaf print pattern on the window dressing. The use of a patterned Roman blind is a wonderful way of adding a softness to the look, while adding character and bringing the space alive.

A bright and light kitchen

The kitchen is a room that needs to cater to many needs, from making meals and socialising, to helping the little ones do their homework. A hive of activity occurs in the kitchen, therefore, when decorating a space with a wide range of needs that need to be met, it can be a challenge. Nonetheless, @lydshome has done a fabulous job of creating a space that is calming yet practical. The soft shade of green used on the cabinets brings a delicate charm to the space that will have a long-life span. Soft shades of green are an ideal colour choice as they provide a timeless look without looking dated – perfect for anyone who doesn’t enjoy the upheaval of redecorating.

We adore the crisp white work surface and how it contrasts against the soft green cabinets, creating a bright and light feeling within the room. The use of the white roller blind is another aspect within the kitchen that adds a summer feel to the space, as it offers a clean, brightening look. Roller blinds are also ideal for kitchens as they offer a range of practical qualities, from easy wipe and moisture proof to PVC and flame retardant.

The cosy corner

Using a natural, yet warm toned palette is a great way to keep the space inviting while allowing for evolution to occur overtime within your décor. When a space feels as though it has evolved naturally, rather than feeling unimaginative or indistinctive, it transforms from a house into a home. @beccahhome has created a fabulous warming corner in her home with ceiling height curtains. Adding ceiling height curtains to a room can help the space feel larger, along with transforming the window into a decorative feature in the home. Using a luxurious fabric such as velvet or silk will help add a sophisticated touch to the space, enriching the décor.

Styling a space can be where the challenge starts. We like to present our ornaments and family heirlooms, however tying them all together so they don’t look out of place can be where the challenge starts. @beccahhome has styled her bookcase wonderfully, keeping the tones and materials of the post in keeping with each other, while the injection of nature in the plants brings a calming sense to the space.
